Finding Contentment in God's Will Today
by Philip Wilder & C.E. White

As Christians, we are all complete in Christ; we are new creations with an eternal purpose and a faithful calling.

But our society is set up to make singles feel that they’re incomplete—that until they marry, they’re not quite whole. Biblically, this just isn’t true. I Corinthians 7:8 says, “…it is good to remain single.”

Authors Philip Wilder and C.E. White are teaming up to co-write a book on Christian singleness. Our single years should be lived in the contentment and purpose God calls us to. Instead, so many singles live in fear and anxiety, worried they will never find a spouse and feeling “less-than.”

You are whole, and what you have to offer matters now. You don’t have to wait for a spouse to be the person God has called you to be!

Longing for a spouse can be painful and lonely, but even in the midst of that loneliness, you can find contentment and the fulfillment of your life in Christ and what he has for you today.

Marriage can be wonderful or awful, but either way, as Gary Chapman says, “…marriage is not a higher calling than the single state. Happy indeed are those people—married or single—who have discovered that happiness is not found in marriage, but in a right relationship with God.”

Even if God has marriage in his plan for you later, you will never regret pushing into your relationship with him and leading the life you have now with purpose and diligence. Learning to seek Jesus in singleness will always bring a richer life, whether that life ever includes spouse or not.

Dig deep into the Word, push into your relationship with Christ, and find your satisfaction in him!
